Christmas!

Well… so much for posting once a week. I promise I will become more regular with my posting as life goes on and I get a laptop.

Anyhow-- So much has happened! Let's see…

  • College News
  • The Musical
  • Christmas Stuff
  • Food Stuff
  • Whatever Else I May Decide To Add
Thats the Agenda.
Let Class Begin…
Except today was the last day of classes until January 3rd, 2012!
ONLY 109 MORE SCHOOL DAYS

Which brings me to college.

That school up there?
I GOT IN.
As a Vocal Performance major as well.
Therefore, if all else fails, I have my #1 School (AND the program I want!) to go to.
Because I got in to CUA.

I did not get in to Notre Dame. (But it doesn't matter because I got in to CUA)
I did not pass my audition for DePaul. (But it doesn't matter because I got in to CUA)

It will be a happy Christmas. (Because I got in to CUA)

DID I MENTION I GOT IN TO CUA?

And Therefore, I Am A Happy Cat.
Just Like The Picture.
HAPPY CAT!!
:D

Now that the wonderful and big news is out of the way… Let's Talk About Something…
The School Musical.
I did not get the lead, but that's all right because I'm featured ensemble, and thats OK.
Im a little bummed that a senior didn't get the lead, but, again, that's OK.
The more I think about it, the more I realize it just makes sense.
As for those who are in a snit over casting: GET OVER YOURSELVES. Life goes on. Take a breath… or five- and stop posting on facebook about it. FYI; that's cyberbullying.

Now that THAT'S off my chest… It's time to talk about CHRISTMAS!
Unfortunately, here, it is green.
We usually have about 3 feet of snow by now.
Initially I could not have cared less… But Christmas is in two days and I actually REALLY WANT SNOW. I have only had a green christmas once in my memory, so this sucks.

Other Christmas News:
I don't have a gift for my best friend.
I have one for her boyfriend, but not her.
How sad is that??
Well, I have her graduation gift… but… that's for graduation. I'll think of something.
My brother is set. (I won't tell you what I got him until after though… he might be reading… probably not. I don't think he cares. SHHHHH!)

Now, if you are at all like me, Christmas= FOOD. And lots of it.
So It means I've been eating like shit alllll week and will continue to do so until something ridiculous like January 49th.  *I'm aware that day doesn't actually exist.
anyhow, the point is, when I auditioned for CUA, I didn't count for that weekend and my stomach probably doubled in size. I'll get off calorie dependency again, it will just take a while.
Time, Invisalign, and Gum.
I had a cupcake for lunch.
I was a bad girl today.
Although, when I think about it… so far this week my Average NET calorie intake is +61.4Cal
Last week it was: -74.3Cal
The Week Before: +112.7Cal
Three Weeks Ago: -131.6Cal
Four Weeks Ago: -27.1Cal
… SO, insofar, for the five weeks I'm averaging NET -11.8Cal/day which isn't really too bad.
So I'm Good.
I Hope.

LASTLY (I promise)!
On a Slightly more serious note; I just finished reading Reviving Ophelia. It is such a good book, very thought provoking and interesting. It talks about the Ophelia Syndrome, which almost all women fall prey to, and are especially susceptible to during their adolescent and teen years.
I think everybody, especially women, should read this book. I was fortunate enough to read it at a time in my life that almost functions as a bridge. I feel as though I could still reach out to my teen years, and could therefore relate to many of the girls in the book (although in some extreme cases, it was difficult); I can also relate to the Author, who is looking in on the lives of these girls analytically, and finding a common thread.
It really allowed me to self reflect, and I liked that. I will warn, however, that some of the issues discussed can be a little in your face, and depending upon how you identify with a character (Because I guarantee you will) some things- like the conclusions she draws- may rub you the wrong way.
Usually I encourage strong reactions to books; but as a warning... go into this one with an open mind. And remember, you can always stop reading, no one's going to judge you :)

WELL!
That was a lot!
Have a Happy Christmas (or Hanukah) !

Ps: I will try my hardest to post shorter posts, and more frequently. Enjoy the Holidays!
